Of shipwrecked souls

We swam for shore, our passage lit by the angler's lantern lure

A confluence of imagery
Synaesthetic artistry
Lamenting bellows linger there
The taste of red hangs in the air
The exiled smile and decay
In shallow graves below the waves

In cartological ignorance
Coordinates and latitude unknown
No shipping lanes, no vapour trails
Mystic forms immortalised in stone
No signal fires, no codes nor flares
No rescue vessels found them there
